NSSRA offers more than 100 programs and events during the year and serves approximately 1500 different individuals with disabilities in creative arts, sports, drama, dance, cooking and other areas. Participants include pre-schoolers, youth and teens through young adults, adults and seniors. Programs are offered at park district, Schools, and other locations throughout the northern suburbs.
Program assistants are responsible for assisting with the organization, implementation, and evaluation of recreation programs for children and adults with disabilities. Supporting NSSRA participants and full-time staff in regular programs, Special Olympics sports training, at social activities, with craft projects, swimming, and on community outings. This is a seasonal part-time position. Work hours vary from 5 - 30 hrs a week, depending on staff availability and participant registration.
Primary hours for this position are afterschool and Saturdays, but other hours are available.
