| Residential Counselor Residential Counselors support the mission of Boys Hope Girls Hope to help academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college. Residential Counselors reside in and are responsible for directing the operations of the home to create a family atmosphere of love and concern that supports the development of the full child. The Residential Counselor is part of a team, usually consisting of one other Residential Counselor and a National Volunteer. They perform duties relatively free from direct supervision, acting at all times in a professional manner. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, or a related field and be at least 21 years of age. A minimum of one year full-time experience working with youth and a valid driver's license are also required.
