HUMAN RESOURCES TRAINING INTERN
|I. OBJECTIVE: Support the Human Resources Employment Team by providing daily general office assistance and completing an internship project.
II. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT(S): The assigned project is the development of a training module for COSIís hiring supervisors. Use materials provided by COSI as well as additional information gathered to develop an interviewing training module for COSIís hiring supervisors.
a. Work with Human Resources and current hiring supervisors to determine what information is necessary to know about interviewing and what questions/concerns supervisors have about interviewing.
b. Use various means to conduct research and gather materials necessary to complete project.
c. Responsible for developing the Trainer and Supervisor manuals.
d. Develop other aspects of the training such as PowerPoint, role-plays, mock interviews, etc.
e. Train the Human Resources Team on the module created.
III. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Help with the recruitment/hiring process by distributing resumes, handling written correspondence, and maintaining the COSI JOBLINE and Job Board
b. Perform general clerical duties such as mail sorting, distributing memos, faxing, Xeroxing, and general computer work to support other HR Team Members.
c. Respond to correspondence and phone inquiries from applicants.
d. Provide current applicant information to supervisors as needed.
e. Help with the preparation and distribution of newly received applications.
f. Back-up Human Resources Team in handling Team Member questions and requests for assistance.
g. Assist with the stocking of regular office supplies and help maintain supply levels in the office. Help maintain neatness and order in the Human Resources office.
h. Support general COSI operations through participation in meetings as appropriate.
i. Serve as an example to other COSI Team Members and Volunteers in matters of appearance, attitude and performance.
j. In accordance with COSI's Guest Services Strategy and as opportunities present themselves, provide excellence in guest services by assuring guest safety, using courtesy to drive each guest interaction, by delivering the COSI show, and by keeping operations efficient.
k. Perform other duties as assigned by the Employment Coordinator or other members of the Human Resources Team.
IV. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED: Candidates must have excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills. College coursework relating to Human Resources REQUIRED, preferably with experience/knowledge in training. Must be able to multi-task, work in a team atmosphere; be detailed oriented, highly motivated, consistent, and flexible. Must have a friendly, helpful attitude. Excellent organizational skills and experience with Microsoft Office is necessary. Candidates must also possess an ability to follow through on tasks, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and work well with and without direct supervision. Previous knowledge/experience in interviewing helpful, but not required.
V. SCHEDULE: Monday Ė Friday, 10-16 hours per week. More defined schedule to be worked out between Supervisor and Intern.
